This article covers common queries regarding events in Jisc learning analytics.
Events Not Appearing
For some staff, an event might not appear in your event calendar. There are two common reasons why this might happen:
- The events that appear in Jisc learning analytics are linked to modules (not staff). If you are not listed as an 'Instructor' on a module Blackboard site, you will not see the events for the module appear in your list of events. Please ensure that you are an 'Instructor' for the correct module occurrence.
- For an event to appear in Jisc learning analytics, students need to be timetabled. Please check that the timetable for this module up-to-date. You do this via MyTimetable. You can view any module’s timetable on MyTimetable. Go to MyTimetable > + Add timetable > Select the AY > Module. Use the Day, Week, Month view to find your event.
Cancel Events
Timetabled Events
Timetabled events can be cancelled in Jisc learning analytics two weeks after the taught activity should have taken place. To cancel an event:
If an event appears as ‘Cancelled’ but it was not, this means that there was a change in the timetable for this particular event. There will be a new event which has replaced it. Often times, the new event is located just above or below your cancelled event.
Non-Timetabled Events
Any event that you have created in Jisc learning analytics, you can cancel at any time. When you create an event, this will appear under your list of Events. Follow the instructions below to cancel the event.
How to Cancel
- Go to 'Events' in side menu.
- Find your event using the filtering functionality in the calendar view.
- Once you have found the event you created, click on the event name.
- On the event page, you will see a button 'Cancel event'. Click on this button.
- A pop-up will appear to confirm that this is the action you want to do. Click Confirm.
- Your event is now deleted.
