Advance HE Fellowship is a nationally recognised indicator of professional achievement for higher education practitioners. It confers the right to use the titles Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow and Principal Fellow.
Fellowship is achieved by demonstrating how your practice in teaching and/or supporting learning in HE meets the criteria laid out within the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023).
Changes to applying for Fellowship
The University is changing the process of staff applying for Fellowship. If you submitted an application in the 25/26 academic year and are resubmitting in spring 2026, please refer to the information about applying for Fellowship on the TALENT website.
If you are interested in submitting an application for the 26/27 academic year we will be using a new cohort model to provide support called Recognising Teaching Excellence. This has already been used successfully for Principal Fellows in the past, and we are rolling it out to all Fellowship levels. Look at our new guidance pages for more info.
