As there are two different versions of Panopto available in SHU, and several different ways to access them, it is useful to consider which version may be most useful to you before you start recording.

Functionality
While they look quite different, both versions mostly have the same functionality in terms of basic operation.

Panopto for Windows (or Mac) can:
- Produce recordings in MP4 format
- Highlight the mouse cursor on the screen
- Pause a recording and resume a recording
And Panopto Capture can:
- Work on any internet-connected device (the software doesn’t need to be installed)
So, mainly, it is down to preference, and what computer you are currently using (see below).
Accessing Panopto
Panopto Capture can be accessed in the following ways:
- Your Panopto account (Click [Create] and Select [Panopto Capture])
- Via your Blackboard sites (Go to [+] > [Integrated Tools] > [Panopto Video Embed] > [Record]) > [Capture (Browser)]
