This article explains how you can monitor attendance and engagement with your module.
When you login to Jisc learning analytics, click Modules in the side menu. You will be presented with the Modules Page. Filtering along the top enables you to:
- Show modules I’m linked to 'Directly' – these are modules that you are enrolled as an Instructor on the module Blackboard site. This link comes from Blackboard.
- Show modules I’m linked to 'By courses' – this view is for Course Leaders and allows them to see all modules for courses they lead on. This link comes from SITS. Course Leaders might be linked to courses Directly or Globally, dependent on their permissions. When viewing modules by courses, you can search or select specific courses.
As a Course Leader, you can alter filter by Course instances you are linked to:
- 'Directly' - these are modules that you are the Course Leader for. This link comes from SITS.
- 'At a higher level' - these are modules that you are linked to via your tiers permissions. Dependent on your role within the university, you might have enhanced permissions in Jisc learning analytics to view modules for an entire College, School/Institute, subject, or just a course cohort. Please review our Tiers & Reporting guide for more detailed information.
- 'Inactive' - by ticking this, you can see modules which are currently 'Inactive' as per SITS start and end dates of this module.
Filtering Modules
You can filter between using the ‘Status’ filter on the right. You can view all of your modules together (thereby viewing Past, Active, Future, and Unknown modules in one list) by clicking the ‘x’ under Status. If the status (start and end dates of your module) is incorrect, contact ! SITS Help to resolve. Your module status (e.g., an inactive module) will not impact your ability to take attendance. Please refer to articles about taking attendance for more details.
On this page, you will see:
- Module name
- Module instance ID
- Academic year
- Start date of module - this comes from SITS
- End date of module - this comes from SITS
- Status of module
