Academic Integrity Mini-Modules

Academic Integrity Mini-Modules

Academic Integrity mini-modules are designed to be developmental in nature and build upon each other. The main focus has been narrowed to academic integrity and the modules have deliberately not been designed as academic skills modules (academic skills e-modules can be accessed by students through the library skills site). That said, academic integrity is so closely aligned to good academic skills that there is some reference to those skills and signposting to further skills development throughout.

At level 7 there are two modules, one builds upon the previous levels and is aimed at students continuing their studies at Hallam, whilst the second module covers the Fundamentals of Academic Integrity for students new to Hallam. It is anticipated that where content is level specific, previous levels' mini-modules will still be available to students to refresh their memory, or for the benefit of direct entrants/ top-up year students etc.

Understanding Generative Artificial Intelligence

The Hallam Mini-Modules on Academic Integrity discuss the need to consider how to use Artificial intelligence with integrity. However, in addition to this, it is really important that students understand what Generative Artificial Intelligence is, who owns AI-generated content, how accurate or reliable AI-generated content is and What the ethical implications of using AI-generated content are. Focusing on this area an additional module on Understanding Generative AI has been created which you may find useful. It is slightly longer than the Hallam Mini Modules, but can be started and resumed later if necessary, it is available in the same folder as the Mini Modules on the AIF Blackboard site.
