Katie Steckles of Secondary Maths Education talks about using software to help her students visualise and explore complex maths problems.

Students are employed to work alongside academic colleagues as research assistants. Students work in projects in a variety of contexts such as, literature search and review, data collection, data analysis, and any other research related activity required for the project.

This student project brings together level 5 students from film and screenwriting, acting and performance, filmmaking, and 3 external partners. The students were provided a brief by Welcome to Yorkshire to create 90 second film scripts. Hallam students have not only written the scripts but will also act, film and produce the films that will then be showcased on the external partners website.

This initiative is based on an internationally accredited programme that recruits and trains student leaders who are in their second and third years of their course to deliver interactive and engaging sessions to first year students.
